Following the Sunnah is success

The following article is taken from Sunnah Publishing:

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Indeed, I have left you upon a clear white path. Its night is like its day, no one deviates from it, except that he is destroyed.? Saheeh: Related by Ibn Abee ‘Aasim in as-Sunnah (no. 48-49).

Ibn Shihaab az-Zuhree (d.124H) said, “Those who proceeded us from amongst our Scholars used to say, “Holding onto the Sunnah is salvation.? Related by ad-Daarimee (no. 96) and al-Laalikaa’ee in Sharh Usoolul-I’tiqaad (no. 15, 136-137).

Imaam Maalik Ibn Anas (d.179H) said, “The Sunnah is like the ark of Nooh (‘alayhis-salaam). Whosoever boards it is saved and whosoever fails to do so is drowned.? Refer to Taareekh Baghdaad (7/336) and Miftaahul-Jannah (p. 76).

Imaam al-Barbahaaree (d.329H) said, “Know that the knowledge is not indicated by an abundance of narrations and books. However, the Scholar is the one who follows the Book and the Sunnah, even if he has little knowledge and books. And whosoever opposes the Book and the Sunnah, then he is a person of innovation, even if he has many narrations and books.? Refer to Sharhus-Sunnah (no. 81) of al-Barabahaaree.

And al-Hasan al-Basree (d.110H) said, “O Ahlus-Sunnah, be gentle – may Allaah have mercy upon you. Since, you are the fewest of the people.? Related by al-Laalikaa’ee in Sharh Usoolul-I’tiqaad (no. 19), Ibn Rajab in Kashful-Kurbah (p. 19) and Miftaahul-Jannah (no. 64).

And al-Fudayl Ibn ‘Iyaad (d.187H) said, “Follow the paths of guidance and you will not be harmed by the scarcity of followers. And beware of the paths to misguidance and do not be deceived by the abundance of those who are destroyed.? Refer to al-I’tisaam (1/112) of ash-Shaatibee.

Yoonus Ibn ‘Ubayd (d.139H) said, “How amazing is the one who calls to the Sunnah today! And what is even more amazing than him is the one who answers the call to the Sunnah!? Refer to Sharhus-Sunnah (no. 127) of al-Barbahaaree.
